Black beans, sometimes referred to as “turtle beans,” are commonly found in burritos and salads, but have been used in a variety of unique recipes, too, like black bean burgers, hummus, and brownies.

Our black beans at Core Goods are dry, meaning they need soaked and cooked before eating. It can take some time, but there are many benefits to eating dried beans over canned, as we talked about in our blog post about garbanzo beans.

You can cook them quickly in an Instant Pot, overnight in a crockpot, or on the stove top. We shared tips for cooking dried beans in our blog post about pinto beans.
