Item of the Week: Raisins

Raisins–sweet, plump, and delicious little dried grapes–are great to snack on by themselves or add to a meal.

At Core Goods, we have organic “flame” raisins. They come from flame grapes and tend to be larger and plumper than traditional raisins you’re used to eating from the grocery store.

Raisins are packed with nutritional benefits that provide a boost of energy, a good source of fiber, and different essential vitamins and minerals (learn more).

You should eat them in moderation, though. As a dehydrated fruit, they are high in calories and sugar (just 1/4 cup contains about 130 calories and 29 grams of sugar). So sprinkle a few on your salad, add some to your trail mix, or incorporate them into a recipe like the ideas below:
