Featured Item: Coffee Beans

Whether you take it black or need a little cream and sugar, coffee is much better when it’s made after grinding fresh beans.

There are few things better than the smell of fresh coffee, especially when you grind the beans yourself. At Core Goods, we have three different blends of locally roasted beans available:

  • Karma Blend: Roasted by Elmo Fired Beans out of Knox, PA; medium dark roast; the house blend at Karma Coffee Company in Oil City
  • Honduras Nueva Esperanza (Organic): Also roasted by Elmo Fired; described as a medium roast with notes of milk chocolate, mild lemon, and caramel
  • Sunshine Blend: Central and South American beans roasted by Bossa Nova Café Roastery out of Franklin; described as: a perfectly balanced blend of South and Central American coffees

Our coffee beans are available in bulk and are $12 – $15 a pound. You can buy as much or as little as you need!

While fresh ground coffee right before brewing is best, we know that’s not always practical for everyone, so we have a coffee grinder available if you’d like your beans ground.

There are many ways to brew coffee–traditional drip coffee maker, reusable k-cup, french press, pour over, cold brew, and percolator to name a few. Each way produces a different aroma, texture, and taste. This article provides some great tips for different brewing methods.

After your coffee is ready, there are also countless ways to drink it. You could keep it simple and drink it black, add some nut milk, add creamer and/or sugar, froth your own milk for a latte or cappuccino, add ice cubes for an iced coffee, or blend it with ice for a frappe. For flavor, you could add spices, like cinnamon and nutmeg, to the grounds before brewing or add syrups afterwards.

There are many ways to drink coffee and many ways to eat it too! Check out the recipes below for both coffee drinks and food.
